A SMALL SAMPLE OF WHAT REALLY COUNTS -

Only printed feedback by email, letter or card has been quoted, no paraphrased verbal comments.

"I thought I'd just drop you a line to say how well the drinking has gone since I saw you. It didn't work in exactly the way I discussed (i.e. drink-free days) but my consumption has more than halved and without it feeling particularly difficult - fantastic result!"

"Just wanted to drop you a quick note from Oxford to say things are going well for me here, and I'm really enjoying it! I really appreciated the help you gave me in the week before I came because I was feeling so horrible."

"I will always be grateful because it now makes sense. I know why [the issue] happens and I can change things."

"How is it that you know these things, the way it was? I've not been able to talk because no one would believe me or understand!"

"I didn't believe that such a change could be felt, thank you."

"I came because of what you did to help two of my friends. They've really put the pressure on me to finally take action."

"I'll not soon forget you, I don't know how you know these things but I'm so glad you do and that we met."

"Well the news is excellent. I have completely changed my lifestyle ... So many thanks to you Pat. If I need a 'top up' I will definitely be back, but I feel very positive at the moment."

"Hi, Just thought you would like to know I haven't had a cigarette since seeing you last thursday --I'm amazed and delighted, I will let you know how it goes, if it's this painless I wish I'd seen you ages ago. Thank you, take care."

"You changed my son's life. Thank you."

"Just a brief note to let you know that my viva exam went REALLY well on Saturday ...hooray! I actually wanted more questions as I felt 'on a roll' and felt as though I could keep answering more and more! ... Overall I felt 100x better than last time and I'm certain that I have passed, and passed well. I won't get the actual results for one month but one of the examiners (who also examined me last time) told me afterwards that he couldn't believe the difference!"

"Hi - remember me - the smoker who didn't want to stop? Thought that you might be interested to know that Friday is the anniversary of my 5th week not smoking. Haven't had one since I got off the plane in Tenerife."

"Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that I'm about to complete my first month free of smoking since the hypnosis session with you. I feel MUCH better & the cycling is coming along nicely as well. It's also nice having a sense of smell back again.

I still have absolutely no desire to smoke, and certainly don't crave it. In
fact, I feel as though I never actually smoked in the first place, which I
find a bit odd!"

"You helped to conquer my fear of driving and I'm very happy to say the driving is going well - I hardly think about it at all now and I think I can even admit that I quite enjoy it! So thank you. I'm emailing you because...."

"Dear Pat, You probably don't remember me -- one of the many people you help quit the weed, I'm still not and haven't wanted to!!! I have a friend...."

BACKGROUND

After I left Canada as a bride in 1972, I was 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry managing clinical trials and medical education projects on cancer in the UK and abroad, as well as a stint in marketing. Then a period at the Cancer Research Campaign (as it then was) on UK phase II clinical trials and five years managing educational conferences and publishing projects for the European School of Oncology based in Milan.

These jobs certainly demonstrated personal stress, interpersonal dynamics, corporate politics, game playing and the many emotional 'oddities' in life. They also showed the power of thoughts and emotions to make things better or very much worse at times of trauma and of stress – tight deadlines, top-down bad decision-making, professional or personal worlds turning upside down, threats to life and family, life changes, relationships and family issues.

The majority of my professional time is working in the private sector with personal and professional adjustment problems, anxiety, depression and distress.
Also with people who want to confidentially explore and expand their personal potential in relationships, professionally, in life.

I worked part-time in the Head & Neck Cancer multidisciplinary team, Portsmouth Hospitals Trust 2000-2003 and in Cancer Services at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester 2004-2005.
